At our second Group Council meeting, we made important progress in shaping the foundation of our Scout Group.

We approved several key policy documents, including:

• Scout Group Constitution
• Group Membership Policy
• Conflict of Interest Policy
• Safeguarding Statement
• Safeguarding Adults at Risk Policy
• Group Charter

Teams were also appointed to draft our Fees Policy and Group Strategic Plan, which will be presented for approval at a future meeting.

Following discussions from our last meeting, we approved a preferred meeting place and times for our weekly youth member sessions and agreed to reach out to the venue to arrange bookings.

We also discussed options for the Group’s neckerchief, which will be unique to 4th Westmeath (Moate) and show other Scout Groups where we are from. Photos were shared of the CBSI (Catholic Boy Scouts of Ireland) neckerchief used by a previous Moate Scout group, and we reviewed other ideas for a new design.

These steps bring us closer to getting our Group fully up and running, ready to welcome youth members and start Scouting adventures!
