Today the 4th Westmeath Moate Scout Group embarked on an exciting and truly memorable adventure by going on our very first hike together as one united and enthusiastic group.

Both our eager Beaver and Cub sections enthusiastically took part in this special and unforgettable hike, which unfolded along the stunning, beautifully scenic, and tranquil Esker Bluebell Trail. Equipped with warm wear, water bottles to stay hydrated, and a delicious supply of GORP to maintain their energy levels, our dedicated Youth Members and Scouters thoroughly enjoyed this inaugural group outing.

During the hike, we also set up a map reading base where our members had the valuable opportunity to learn essential navigation and map-reading skills first-hand in a fun and practical way. Additionally, everyone learned our very first campfire song, perfectly setting the stage for many more fun, engaging, and exciting activities to come in the upcoming new year!
